SERIES POINTS

Series points are awarded for every race and accumulated during the year to determine the series champion in each age group at the season finale in October.

GOODIES

Every athlete registering at least…
  • 1 race gets a starter kit [t-shirt (see size chart), drawstring bag, race belt]
  • 2 races get a bike bottle
  • 3 races get a visor
  • 4 races get a tri suit (see size chart)

 

There are also finisher medals but with a twist.
  • Finish your first race and get a bronze medal.
  • Finish 3 races and get a silver medal
  • Finish all 5 races and get a prestigious gold medal.

 

Tri Dash t-shirt, tri suits and visors are also for sale online during registration. Registered athletes can always log back into your account to make the order. You can pick up your purchases onsite at your next race.

BIKE

RUN

The swim is done in a 50-meter pool and participants with similar swimming ability are set off in groups.

The pool is shallow for the whole length so if an athlete is not a great swimmer they can walk sections of the swim.

The bike is on a closed road around the golf course so there is very little chance of cars and motorbikes.

The run is an out and back on the same road as the bike course.

RACE RULES

(updated for the September races)

In order to facilitate a safe racing environment we have come up with the following distancing and hygiene rules:

Parents and supporters will not be allowed in the transition area and no outside assistance by parents or supporters will be permitted during the race. Violation of these rules will lead to disqualification of the athlete. We have been involved in many junior races over the past years in different roles and we know that the juniors are perfectly capable of organizing themselves without the assistance of their parents.

 

Our staff will be available on site to assist junior athletes with questions and there will be pre-race announcements and the mandatory race briefing prior to the start as well. We encourage you to cheer on your children during the race and help contribute to the positive and relaxed atmosphere that the Tri Dash Bangkok Series has become known for.

GENERAL

 

  • No new registrations onsite
  • Only 1 non-competing companion/family/friend is allowed at the event, per 1 athlete
  • Athletes can only check in to the transition area according to the scheduled times. Please arrive on time.
  • Athletes must wear face masks as they arrive, while at bike racks pre-race and at the swimming pool
  • All staff must wear masks and face shield at all times
  • Print out and sign a waiver form at home and drop off at the entrance when entering the transition area
  • Race packs will be prepared for athletes at the bike racks, including the bib number, timing chip, finisher medal (where applicable), post-race snack, etc.
  • Wear your bib number for the bike and run
  • Attach your timing chip to your ankle before the race
  • Athletes race at their own risk.
  • Athletes must be medically fit to race.
  • Athletes must prepare their own water for their bikes.
  • Race briefing: Attendance is compulsory.
  • Athletes should not leave any valuables in their bags at the transition area. The race organizers do not take responsibility for lost items.

SWIM

 

  • No body marking. Athletes will receive a swim card with their race number, start time and start sequence in the race pack. Please take to the swim start
  • Athletes line up around the pool with 1.50m distance prior to their start wearing face masks. Masks can be dropped in a bin at the swim start
  • Athletes must keep count of the laps themselves
  • Any overtaking must be done safely.

BIKE

 

  • Athletes’ bikes must have working breaks and be safe to race on
  • Helmets are compulsory. No helmet no race
  • Athletes mount their bikes on the left-hand side of the road and must be cautious of bikers already racing on the road when they start
  • NO DRAFTING (Read details here)
  • Athletes must keep to the left of the road when biking, pass on the right, keep far right when passing until they have cleared the drafting zone, and shout “on your right’ when passing
  • Athletes dismount bikes on the left-hand side of the road at the bike finish and run their bike into transition
  • No aid stations on the bike course, athletes must carry their own water
  • Athletes must keep count of the loops themselves
  • No earphones on while biking
  • Tops are compulsory

RUN

 

  • At the run start, athletes must give way to bikers on the bike course before they cross the road to the start of the run, and keep in the outside lane as bikes will be coming on the inside lane
  • Athletes will u-turn at each end of the race course until they completed the distance, then they can cross the finish line
  • No aid stations on the run courses, athletes must carry their own water on the run
  • Athletes must keep count of the loops themselves
  • No earphones on while running
  • Tops are compulsory
  • Single-use mask handed out at the finish line for athletes to wear until they leave the venue
  • Athletes take off timing chip themselves and drop-in bin
  • Athletes are encouraged to immediately leave the venue after completing their race
  • No awards presentation, no lucky draw, awards will be post mailed
